The Peak District is local (to me) and serves as a great gateway for those looking to get into hiking.

Although the hills aren't especially big, the area offers a diverse range of views and is an excellent place for landscape photography.

That said, I feel a bit guilty for not visiting as often in recent years — perhaps I've been spoiled by the grandeur of the Lakes and Snowdonia or maybe it is because I've sunk into a bog more times than I care to admit.
